How it helped me?
Before going into how it helped me, a few lines about me is necessary. I am a web developer working in a startup. one of the issues that I faced when I started my work was completing my task on time. I am easily distracted and being online all the time as part of my job doesn’t really help to make me more focused. I found out about this technique from one of my colleagues. It’s really a simple technique, we just give ourself a predefined time to finish a given task and it really does help to get things done on time.
- It helps us to mentally prepare and sort our priorities, giving us a clear idea on what needs to be done.
- I think the phenomenon is similar to how we are able to learn really fast during the night before an exam. 😉
- A short interval between work helps to clear the mind and gives a new perspective to the work we are doing.
- 🛑IMPORTANT: whatever happens, try to stick with the timer, a bit of self-discipline is necessary for this to work.
